ITC 321

Process

Students will work in groups, and each will be assigned a topic from Shakespeare’s theater or from the Elizabethan Era. For example one group will be in charge of the class system that exists. The students will gather information, and then in their groups they will compile it in such a way so that they can present it to the class. Students will then hand in their written notes on the information they gathered so that they can be graded on what they found from their research, and also so that they can be graded on how well they worked together in a group setting.

The students will be broken down into five groups of four. From there the students will be assigned a topic. To begin they will read a short introduction about their specific topic. Then as a group the students will go through the WebQuest. The WebQuest will provide students with information on their specific topic, and the WebQuest will direct students through the information. Students will have questions to answer throughout the WebQuest to keep them on task, and to make sure that they understand what they are reading, and also to make sure that they know what they should be accomplishing as the WebQuest progresses. When the students complete the WebQuest they will have a summary of what they learned to present to the class, and they will also create a small scale project that they can present to the class. This allows the students to show what they learned, and then everyone gets an overview of what the time of Shakespeare was like before we start reading Romeo and Juliet. For example the costume group could put together their own version of costumes and hold a fashion show for the class, or they could put together a magazine in which people could order costumes from.
